Asian Tuna Meatballs

This is a recipe that I found in Katie Lee Joels “The Comfort Table” cookbook. Jeremy and I LOVED these. They were so delicious and quick to make.  I cut the recipe down and it still made 12 1 inch meatballs. I dont have the cookbook near me so Im just gonna tell ya how I made them.

2 tuna steaks

1/4 cup plain breadcrumbs

1 tbsp soy sauce

1 inch ginger, grated

1/4 cup onion, grated and patted dry with paper towels

1/8 cup cilantro, chopped

1 egg, beaten

1 tsp sesame oil

1/2 cup sesame seeds, slightly toasted

Preheat oven to 5o0. Put tuna steaks in food processor and pulse until its near the consistency of ground beef. Put in large bowl. Combine everything with tuna except the sesame seeds. Mixture will seem wet but thats how its supposed to be. Roll tuna mixture into 12 1 inch meatballs. Roll in sesame seeds.Put on baking sheet thats been sprayed with olive oil spray. Bake for 7 mins.

Serve with mango chutney for dipping…….I also served this with fried rice

Hmm I think I would like these. I love tuna and the rest of the ingredients sound really good too. These would be great as tuna burgers too 🙂
