Sloppy Hot Wing Joes

This recipe is in Rachael Ray’s BOB cookbook. These sloppy joes are so good and will really settle a craving for deep fried buffalo wings. These are VERY VERY messy but definately worth it!


1lb ground chicken breast

1 onion, chopped

2 cloves garlic, minced

2 celery stalks, chopped – I left this out because I hate celery

2 carrots, peeled and grated

1 cup tomato sauce

1/4- 1/3 hot sauce

1 tbsp worcestershire sauce

2 tbsp brown sugar

2 tbsp red wine vinegar

1 cup chicken stock

1 cup blue cheese crumbles

2 large deli pickles, chopped

4 hamburger buns


Heat 2 tbsp evoo in large skillet. Add chicken and brown. Once chicken is no longer pink, add in veggies and cook about 5 mins or until tender. While veggies are cooking, mix tomato sauce, chicken stock, worcestershire sauce, vinegar, brown sugar, and hot sauce in bowl. Pour over chicken mixture and simmer for about 10 mins. Toast buns under broiler.

Pile some of the chicken mixture onto bottom bun and top with some pickles and blue cheese crumbles.
